Fotina Hardy
Founder

I am first generation Australian born to Greek parents who emigrated to Australia in the 1950s.

I chose social work to work against the injustices that our world throws at us, to make a positive difference in the lives of others and to work towards a more equitable and socially just society.

I hold a BSW, Master of Commerce (organisational development and marketing), Doctor of Social Sciences, Post Graduate Developmental Psychiatry Course for Allied Professionals, and Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice. My work experience spans over thirty years and I have experience in a range of areas including health, mental health, disability, aged care, child protection and family support and more recently the higher education sector as Coordinator of Social work and human services Field Education. My practice is based on developing strong, trusting and respectful relationships. I am committed and passionate about ethical practice, which means integrity, respect, and working together to achieve our common goals.

I am an accredited Member AASW (MASSW) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Integrity is crucial to my practice.  Integrity involves being ethical, respectful and ensuring doing no harm. I possess the qualities of humility, being supportive and encouraging, honest and transparent, being strategic, not being afraid to make difficult decisions and taking considered risks. Fundamentally I believe in developing positive and effective relationships, which after all is key to our profession.  Transparency in decision making and ensuring respectful, strategic and ethical leadership is important to me and something that as social workers we aspire to.
